| I don't get how this is marketed as a nutritious snack suitable for lunches |
Nope! |
I guess I should add, the dentist 100% recommended our kid never have them especially since she tended to suck on them/store them on her cheek. She had cavities due to that and since we cut out "fruit snacks" she hasn't had one in 5 years. |
Is she part squirrel? 🐿️ |
| They’re pretty much the same as far as their nutritional value. Fruit snacks usually contain a tiny amount of fruit puree or juice and are fortified with some vitamins. Those things printed on the label make people think they’re not candy when they are. |
| They’re candy. |
Goldfish and similar are worse culprits, as they don’t melt like sugar and just remain in the crevices of teeth until you brush or floss them away. |
| Depends of course. Some fruit snacks are literally just smooshed fruit while others are sugar taffy. |
The US rarely regulates marketing. Agree totally that the so-called "fruit snacks" are not healthy. Mostly corn syrup inside - read the label. |
| Read the labels. There are extreme differences between them. |
| No. |
