marimo moss ball for fish tank

Anonymous
DH got 6 marimo moss ball for our 15 gallon fish tank. I think he paid $30 or more for those tiny balls, and we only have two 1.5 inch fancy goldfishes in the fish tank with plastic decors. We plan to put 4 balls into the tank, and I will keep 2 balls in separate glass container as backups. Any tips to introduce moss balls or grow moss balls in separate container? Do they need plant fertiliers? Those two fishes probably never see a live plant in their lives since we got them last summer, and I hope they do not eat them all.

Sadly, our moss ball immediately killed our fish, despite acclimating the ball and treating it beforehand. Never again.
