FA in BMS and Gillman

Anyone knows if FA will affect the admission of these two schools? Is it possible that the school accept the applicant but refuse any FA at the same time? Or they just reject the applicant directly if no FA would be granted?
Also, is it possible to apply for FA next year after you get in without applying for FA the first year, given no financial situation change in your family.

Different situation but we got into one of these schools not having applied for FA. When job situations changed, school was very generous.

We were accepted to one of these schools but denied FA. So yes you nay be accepted but not offered FA.

I've talked to a few people who tried getting FA at the various privates. My impression is that it is rarely as generous as you might hope for, except for the lucky ones. I have one good friend who is not only an alumna but a single mother and she was hoping to get essentially half tuition and she did have a relatively low income, as in low 100ks. The most she received was 10k, meaning she'd be on hock for 30k, which isn't realistic if you only make 120k. Child also got into BSA so it ended well, but it did leave a bitter aftertaste for her, because she was offering to bring half the tuition to the table, which is still a lot of money for someone like her.

The schools are generous to families who already have children at the school. If you're already paying full tuition for an older child and want to enroll a second child but need aid, that's where they can actually help out. I remember Gilman mentioning they factor in siblings at Bryn Mawr and Roland Park.

A few years ago we applied for FA at 4 schools and DC got admitted to all schools but denied FA, so yes they do admit without FA.

I hope you are a troll and this post is just a sh$$ stirrer. $300k HHI in balto is more than enough to afford two in private school. If your family requests or expects FA at that income, you probably need a reality check.

Park gives FA to institutional priorities. Those kids can have ridiculous behavioral problems and everyone turns a blind eye. To be fair, the kids whose families are donating $$$$$ can also get away with egregious behavior. Donut hole families are not getting FA.

Calm down. 84k a year for two kids at private schools is a huge percent of your after tax income on a 300k HHI. It would make most people pause. She should apply and see what happens, especially if there is already a sibling at the achool. This is probably one area where school aid might be forthcoming as her bill from Park would be 75k instead of 85k, so it's a bit of a win win situation all around. But only one way to find out.
