Size of Gonzaga Class of 2030

Given that the school had such a large 9th grade class this year, does anyone know if next year’s class will be smaller as a result to balance out numbers at the school? Also wondering if they will be going to the WL this year.

Accepted students have until 3/13 to accept or decline the spot, so they probably won’t know until then if they’ll go to the waitlist.

I don’t know about Gonzaga specifically, but I think schools do tend to try to balance out classes if one is overenrolled. I think other schools like St John’s have done this in recent years.

I believe Gonzaga sent out a note last year around mid-March (date might be wrong) saying that they were not going anywhere near their wait pool.

Several schools did not go to their waitlist last year and had bigger yields than expected. It will be interesting to see if they made adjustments to their numbers for this year or if it was a one-off occurrence.

I’ve seen less chatter about people getting admitted this year than last.

At the event yesterday, they said 245 for new class

Correct. I few (3-5) kids got in off the waitlist but they had some type of hook - athlete, sibling, etc. in the school.

DS is in with a subpar HSPT score (in the 70s). Good grades coming from Catholic K-8. An athlete but not recruited. Not legacy.

The current freshman class is 250. Other note, first time ever, majority of a Gonzaga class is from Virginia.
