Sidwell from Capitol Hill?

Anonymous
DC accepted at Sidwell for 7th, and we're trying to figure out how that would work with a commute from Capitol Hill near Lincoln Park. Driving not an option, though we might be able to drop off at a Metro stop (Eastern Market or possibly Union Station). Honestly we were not expecting this and were thinking one of the schools that runs a bus was a more viable choice...

Any ideas or lessons learned? Best options I can find are (1) the C51 bus, which is pretty much a straight shot and at 40 min doesn't seem terrible, or (2) drop off at Eastern Market Metro -- 28 min then 15 min walk from Tenleytown.

Do kids from the neighborhood prefer one of these, or something else? It would be great if DC could make the trip with classmates.

Thank you!

Ask around the community -- I know of several Sidwell middle schoolers who live on the Hill but do not want to out them or their families here, nor do I know the details of their commutes. Ask the school if they can put you in touch.

At another school near Sidwell, which also has a lot of families coming from the Hill. I'd try both and see which is more predictable. They may prefer to Metro there and then bus home too.
