DD waitlisted at SR

DD got waitlisted at SR. It was her top choice and has been in a terrible mood since she found out. I don’t know how to cheer her up. Any help?

+1. Help her get excited about the option(s) she has. If she got into other privates, go to the admitted student events, stop at the bookstore and pick up some swag, etc.

Don’t give up hope. SR is a great school and my DD got off WL! There is hope.

Sorry to hear it and hope the WL moves. What grade?

Remind your DD that she will go to HS even if it’s a public option. She needs to learn resilience and how to make the most of any environment she is in. Not long before this happens with college and jobs.

Also remember it’s not your job to make sure she is happy 100% of her life. She will get through this!
