| I toured with my nephew (I was living in stl ant the time) and he loved it. His parents did let him go because it was too far away. It is in a rougher part of St. Louis than wash u but is on a gorgeous, enclosed campus in a gentrifying area. Nephew is sporty and was super impressed with their gym / sports facilities and the size was great. Big enough to have everything but very supportive of students. Great reputation regionally. We are not catholic but he liked the “whole person” Jesuit thing - study abroad was encouraged and he just got the sense of so many possibilities. he ended up at a Slac down the road from home and still wished he could have gone to slu. |
| Never heard of it! |
| My friend’s daughter goes there! Preprofessional in pharmacy? Or physical therapy? Will come out with a bachelors and an advanced degree after five years I think. They have family in STL (they’re from Chicago) and I think it’s been a good experience for her. They’re nominally Catholic. |
| I’ve heard good things (being from St Louis.) Beautiful campus that is known to be safe. Jesuit. Really good basketball. Decent school spirit. The cutest mascot. Lots of pre professional opportunities. Pre law scholars and pre med scholars. The only negative I’ve heard is about the food. And St Louis is a really fun city. |

This is a school that seems to give out merit to average kids and is still ranked pretty high. Same with Marquette. I ran the net price calculator for both and was pleased.
For us, both were just too far away. |

I had no idea it was private. They are part of the A10 (GMU, VCU, etc) and for (at least) two years in a row there have been fights (both fans and players) at basketball and soccer games in St. Louis. You don't usually see that at Jesuit schools.

I think they won the NCAA soccer title this year. They are obviously a power house in some sports. |
Jesus Christ. |
| Would not suggest it unless student has interest in internships or jobs in that area. Does not have an alumni network as strong as others (such as Wash U. at STL) that may help find a position on either coast. Think of not just the cost and degree but how it fits their needs long term. |
| DD applied this year, last minute, at the end of December, on a whim. I think getting deffered from Santa Clara spooked her. They accepted her less than two weeks later and gave her a 36k merit scholarship. A few weeks later she was also admitted to the honors program and into the med scholars program. The dorm for the honors learning community is really nice! The admissions team is great. |
Has she decided to enroll there? |
A powerhouse with lack of sportsmanship. |
