How much did your kids grow per year

before puberty? What is the average weight and height gain per year before puberty? I have one kid who is growing slowly (only 2ish pounds a year and 2" a year) and another kid who is gaining 8 pounds a year and growing 4 to 5" a year.

2ish inches and a few pounds (less than 10, sometimes a lot less) per year I suppose?

None of my kids grew 4-5 inches in a year until they were in puberty. Aside from infancy etc of course. Are you sure yours is not??? That kind of growth seems somewhat odd to me but we are not an unusually tall family either (maybe it would normal if so- I wouldn’t know)

Op - no definitely not in puberty. Kid who is growing fast is only 6.

Huh. What does the ped say? Surely this seemed odd? I think I’d be suspecting that the measurement was goofed up at one appt or the other. But I have no idea, other than what I have experienced with my own kids.

Mine has grown a max of maybe 3” a year?

Op - seeing the ped next week for annual visit. Will ask them. He grew 5” last year and 4” this year. Gained 8 pounds this year.

Biological parents are 5’7” (mom) and 5’10” (dad)
