| In the market for a range oven. Is La Cornue worth the 11K price tag? I LOVE to cook and bake and have always dreamed of owning one. Not sure if it is worth the investment though. If you ever owned one, I'd love to hear from you! |

They're beautiful. They will not do anything better than cheaper alternatives.
Aesthetics are important to some, not to others - be they homeowners or potential buyers down the line. Get what you want as long as it's appropriate to your space and taste (and wallet). I've seen people blow more on unnecessary (to some) extravagances like elaborate vacations or special details for their new cars or boats that will never be financially worth it, but it may be worth it to them in other ways. This may be your splurge. |
| No. Everything about high end residential kitchen appliances is a scam as far as functionality except for electric ovens instead of gas, good convection fans, a low simmer and possibly if there’s a fridge with more humidity. |
| I’ve wanted an Aga since I was a child |
| It’s like buying a Mercedes when a Kia would do the same job just fine. Buy it if you like it, not for the perceived value. |
| I have one. You will need to constantly polish the brass if you want to keep the shiny look. Also, very few people service them. We are in VA and have to get a guy from MD. Replacement parts are expensive. It’s worth it to us. |
+1 - and regardless of which "high-end" brand. |
| If you have the budget for it and you know it will bring you joy, go for it. But as pp have said, it’s not functionally superior to others. |
