Fancy restaurant reservation cancelled - need last minute ideas for birthday dinner

Anonymous
Made dinner reservations for my husband’s birthday dinner for tomorrow over a month ago - we’re meant to have a tasting menu. The restaurant just called and said they have to close suddenly (?) - it’s highly rated and has great reviews and I’m very bummed!

Any suggestions on a replacement restaurant for tomorrow? Looking for a very high end meal and a place that might still have room! Thanks.

Location might be helpful.

Try Rooster & Owl. I had a really good meal recently at Blue Duck and they tend to have space.

Like where? DC proper? VA?
For sushi can't beat kaiseki at Nakasawa. Only have 10 pm Saturday but earlier slots Sunday.
2941 in Fairfax?

Steak house is the way to go. They always have great seafood too. Try Joes Seafood to start. The place is huge and the wait staff knows what they'r doing.

Agree with the Joe's suggestion. Also, the Cut or Bourbon Steak. Rare in DC is always empty and the food is good too.

Someone booked a private event at the last minute - they will make much more money off of the private event than they would have off of you.

Inn at Little Washington. If you call they often have openings.

The restaurant should have booked you an alternate place. Call the back.

Where were you originally booked?

Osteria Mozza - they have a high capacity so often times standby will open up if your ideal time isn’t available via the booking site.
