Math curriculum

What math curriculum does your elementary school use? And is it public or private school? Are you happy with it?

Bridges in Mathematics. Third grade in public school. What I’ve read about it seems fine, but in practice it requires you to use manipulatives, bring in adjacent ideas, and so on to utilize the curriculum. Our teachers either won’t or don’t know how to do that, so instead DS brings home generic subtraction and addition worksheets most days. Everybody takes RSM or Kumon outside of school.

Our public school uses Eureka. It's okay for average kids. Boring as hell for smart kids.

Like the poster above I sense that many parents supplement to give their kids a stronger foundation in math and keep them interested in math since the school's pace is too slow. I don't think most parents send their kids to pricey learning centers but I think a lot, including myself, teach their kids certain concepts ahead of schedule and buy workbooks or make their own worksheets. The people who write Eureka Math seem to think public school kids are dumb and incapable of any challenge.
