Coppermine MLS Next ID sessions

Anonymous
For those of you with inside information, do you know when Coppermine plans to run their ID sessions for next year's MLS Next teams? My kid is interested in trying out for Coppermine, but almost all other MLS Next teams in the area have had or are having ID sessions soon. If Coppermine waits until late March or April, most other teams will have sent offers already and will have 80% of their teams set.

How significantly will Pipeline Soccer Club be affected by this? I think it could seriously weaken their position, and their brand might gradually lose relevance—even with their high‑end Capelli uniforms. I don’t feel much sympathy for Pipeline SC, because they had a clear opportunity to transition out of ECNL and move into MLS NEXT and GA, but they waited a year too long.

don't MD teams always hold their ID later than VA?

I think people locally feel differently. The coaching staff at Coppermine is same as it always was. Pipeline has been better at developing players and far better with college recruiting.

It’s still crazy that even though it’s been an often shared tip on this forum, high level players still attend tryouts.

If you have a player good enough to be on an MLSNext team, reach out to the coach and ask to practice with the team, in this case the MLSNext II team.

Also don’t assume just because they only had MLSNext II that those teams don’t stay intact and that the new team will be made up of a lot of players from existing MLSNext/ECNL teams.
