And frothing with rage, as usual. Downright incandescent. So glad I’m not your cat. |
South Africa continues to exist, even without a white majority voting polity. Israel will be able to do the same. |
You should read with more care. First, yes “abolition” by definition means rhe end of Israel. That’s the exact and precise meaning of the word “abolition”. Second, this is not a call for either a 2 state or a pluralistic one state solution. It explicitly says “one PALESTINIAN state (emphasis added).” |
What happened? Did your Word Salad TM AI-adaptor fail, leaving you to lean on your Webster's dictionary to form "clever" sentences? |
I’m overcome by emotion (I’ll leave it to you to ascertain the particular emotion involved). Keep ‘em coming! |
That's the future for Israel. |
Why must the name Israel be retained in a one-state scenario? As long as the people in the region (Jew, Muslim, Christian, and anyone else) are allowed to live in the new integrated state, I wouldn't care if they called it "Spaghettiland". |
well it IS in Palestine you know. When the early 20th century Zionists left Poland and imperial Russia for the Middle East, they didn't say we're going to Israel, they said we're going to Palestine. That's the geographical description of the area. |
Technically true, of course, but not what’s intended in this context. |
As opposed just Isreal existing, which by its very nature means abolishing Palestine. I’m not understanding why it’s ok to promote the existence of Israel but not ok to promote Palestine. Not that I am, I’m just asking to help understand where you are coming from. It’s the exact same thing, unless of course you are suggesting that all Palestinians are terrorists in which case that’s the same as saying something antisemitic. |
If you’ve followed any of the comments by the university you’d know that it isn’t even about what she might have said, there is no indication that she was even planning a political speech. It’s absurd |

No. Hate speech by pro Israeli is legal. Any questioning of Israel is against the law in the US. |
As an American, I conditionally support my country and its actions. If elected officials can swear to uphold the constitution, maybe citizens should do the same. Right now, our elected officials, appointees, and career staffers are violating the spirit and letter of the U.S. constitution in furtherance of this 75+ year genocide in the Middle East.
As part of those conditions, I fully reject U.S. policies in the Middle East, our dysfunctional, preferential treatment of Israel above all other nations, and the government officials (elected, appointed, career, whatever) who promote those policies and that preferential treatment. That's where I stand. Proudly. I will not allow foreign interests to dictate that I must support everything that the U.S. does in order to be a good American. Israel in its current form is a blight on humanity. If that changes, I'll re-evaluate my views. But if it doesn't change, nobody is going to dictate that I must support an apartheid state that engages in provocative war crimes and endless terrorism under the shameful banner of "protecting itself". Israel is a disgrace. |
Since many of us on this forum have used IVF for our families, thought this story might resonate with some of you.
In December, an Israeli shell hit a fertility clinic in Gaza, destroying 4000 embryos. Especially heartbreaking for the woman in the video who miscarried her IVF twins during the war and had her remaining embryos destroyed in the strike. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/5000-lives-one-shell-gazas-ivf-embryos-destroyed-by-israeli-strike-2024-04-17/ |
