| It makes me furious. My teen 16 has been acting so ridiculously lately. For instance, she will not accept purchases from perfectly good stores like the Gap or American Eagle because she is “into the thrifting aesthetic”. Why? Those clothes have fleas in them! And it’s not just that it’s a million small things like that. I had to vent. ENOUGH! What would you do, if you’re not dumbfounded the way I am? |
| Pick your battles |
|
First of all, you sound stupid. Clothes from thrift stores do not have fleas in them.
Why are you buying clothes that she doesn't like? See first sentence. GL going on this way. |
|
She sounds like a much better human than you.
No, those clothes do not have fleas in them, you moron. |
| Let her choose her own clothes. Didn't you at the age? |
| Most teens are ridiculous. And everyone knows you wash anything you buy second hand before wearing it. |
| I’m 54, have multiple graduate degrees from impressive sounding schools, and most of my clothes are thrifted. So far so good in the fleas department. |
| Omg another AI teen behavior thread! Whatever will you do!! |
| Get a grip. Get some perspective. |
|
Just don't buy from the flea market, so no fleas.
Problem solved. |
|
|
| Sorry your daughter isn't a basic b. |
|
Fleas don't live on clothes, so that's not even possible.
Stop buying her clothes she doesn't want. |
+1 My kid buys both from thrift stores and AE. IMO, buying from thrift stores is a good idea. Think of all the clothes that go to landfills. Just wash the clothes. It will be fine. I used to buy from thrift stores, too. Never had a problem with bugs. |
| A flea market doesn't mean literal fleas lol |
