Many years ago I bought her New Orleans cookbook and somehow it has disappeared. This was my go to gumbo recipe.
No local library has the book and it’s $40 from resellers - ridiculous! Any chance someone has the book and would share that recipe here, please? |

Alibris has 1 copy for cheap.
If that sells out, check back in a few months. https://www.alibris.com/Chachie-Dupuys-New-Orleans-Home-Cooking-Chachie-Dupuy/book/1002859?matches=5 Don't rely on Amazon. They spike the prices of rare books algorithmically. |

Amazon, Abe, and EBAY have options in the $9 - 10 range for VG used copies. https://www.amazon.com/Chachie-Dupuys-Orleans-Home-Cooking/dp/0025342908 I don’t have that recipe — but I have others if you decide to mix things up a bit. |

OP here.
Thanks, PPs, but that’s a different book. It’s Chachie’s New Orleans Cooking that I seek. Open to your recipe, though, PP. Thanks! |

Are you sure the recipe didn't make it to the new book?
It looks like the cookbook was released by a regional press and then about a year later got rebranded by a national publisher. So I see that you want a spiral-bound book. 1984, Kansas City Press ISBN-13: 9780961353131 Instead of a 1985 Macmillan title. Yes the old one is expensive but do keep checking. Like I said, prices on scarce (not necessarily rare) books do fluctuate. |

Is Jessica Dupuy related to Chachie? https://www.scribd.com/document/881546794/Gumbo-recipe |
| Gumbo? Whyyyyy. So gross. |
You need to get out more. |
| Google “Gumbo Diplomacy” and find Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield’s recipe. She’s a Louisiana native. |
