We will be visiting IU Bloomington for the first time soon for Red Carpet Days for admitted students. We have never been. DD is admitted but to another major, not Kelley.
Other than the school’s presentation, any recommendations for what else we should see and do while we’re there that weekend? |

I hope your family has a good experience. The admitted student visit last year is what pushed my D25 to pick IU. It was really well done. It allowed her to hear about the oppurtunities she was interested and meet professors from her majors. She ended up having class with one the ones she connected with first semester.
Places on campus: Union Any open building (kid liked seeing lecture halls and classrooms) Sample Gates Art Museum Sample Dorm room Drive to different dorms ro get an idea for neighborhoods when requesting dorm Restaurant recommendations: Lennie's Nick's Upland Brewing Siam House Farmbloomington Downtown has many shops and antique stores. |

If there’s a show at the IU Auditorium or the opera/ballet theater, those are great venues.
In addition to the restaurants listed above, brunch at the Tudor Room (in the Indiana Memorial Union) is a treat, and BuffaLouies at The Gables is fun. The Runcible Spoon also has a great breakfast/brunch. |
| If time permits, walk from Sample Gates down Kirkwood. Mama Bear’s Pizza (3rdSt) is fun. We have eaten at The Elm, Samira and Crazy Horse (bar). Eat (or ask to walk in) Forest Dining Hall or grab a bite/coffee at Memorial Union. There are multiple libraries and study spaces. Pretty campus, including Arboretum. I would like to visit the museums on campus if I return. |
