climbzone feedback

We went to climbzone in laurel as first timer. We thought that our kids would enjoy it, but they did not. They have been doing indoor rock climbing for 1 year at sportsrock with lessons, and they find the climbing at climbzone challenging and difficult. They complain to me that it is so slippery with their regular sneakers on the feet and the hand, and some shapes are so odd. They could not get a good gripe and grab. Many kids that may never have done indoor rock climbing find climbzone fun and easy. Those kids wear regular sneakers and daily wear. Can someone explain to me why is that? I am really confused and disappointed that they did not enjoy it at all.

I’m not sure what to tell you, my kids think it’s fun. Some shapes are harder to grip than others but even I, a relatively weak 40s mom can do some of the climbs. Maybe your kids thought it would be super easy and then felt upset it wasn’t?

Mine loved it but yeah they don't climb otherwise and were just in sneakers.

I think it’s hard to tell what’s hard and easy at climb zone? So maybe they think it should be easy, but they are actually trying one of the harder routes?
My kids have done both, and like both- but climbzone is definitely really differen

We were just there and my DD (9) loves it. She has gone at other ages and has always enjoyed it even though it was more challenging when she was younger. They used to have a bunch of bounce houses and a huge inflatable slide that kept her interest in the experience high. This visit, at 9, she was very independent and was able to do everything on her own whereas before she needed more help.
