We are reaching out from the George Mason University Human Pet Study team.
We are recruiting individuals for a 20-30-minute study to learn about the oral microbiome of humans and their pets. In this study we will ask you to complete a survey about you and your pets’ contact and health, and we will ask that you provide us with a saliva sample. From your pet we ask that you collect three oral swabs and one saliva sample for this study. For the safety of our team, we ask that you provide proof that your pet is up to date on their rabies vaccine. If you are interested, we will schedule a time to meet you to collect the samples and complete the survey. As a token of our appreciation, each participant will receive a $50 Amazon gift card. We won’t associate any answers with you specifically. There are no costs or foreseeable risks for you to take part in this study. If you have any questions about our study, please feel free to reach out to Dr. Amira Roess (deer@gmu.edu), the principal investigator of this study. If you are interested in participating in this study, please use this link within the next week to review and complete the consent form and then we will email you to schedule a time to meet. | OP, you aren’t supposed to post just a link. You have to make a comment. |
| So this is a dog study, not a pet study? |
My God, y'all... The link is right there. Click it and read. "Eligibility Criteria for Participation: To participate you must be an adult 18 years or older, live in an urban or suburban area within the DMV, have a pet dog that you can comfortably and safely collect three swabs and a saliva sample from, and show proof that your pet is up to date on their rabies vaccine." |
