| Are the winter iReady scores not released to parents and are only for internal use? Elementary school, if that matters. |
| They will post them at some point in time. It is FCPS so who knows how long it will take. |
| Our ES principal just said they will be released by Mar 2 |
All these tests and no one does anything with them. Man we have lost sight of kids in FCPS. |
+1 |
YOU should do something about it with your child. |
Well you can't if the scores are not released to you timely. Anyway, this has been a problem with FCPS for a long time, and no solution in sight. |
I believe someone in FCPS high up admin has dropped the hammer on schools releasing scores “early” to parents. There has been zero change in school admin at my kids’ ES. Same principal, same AP, most of the same teachers. In K-3 up until last school year we would get a printout sent home shortly after our kids took the iready with their scores. It wasn’t same day but usually in about a week. Now we have to wait for every damn kid in the whole entire county to take it and then the score is only UPDATED in ParentVue. No printout is sent home. They don’t take a math Iready in 4th, they take the MAP instead and again; a score is posted in ParentVue but no sheet is sent home. This has to be coming from the top because principals have historically had a lot of leeway in FCPS to do different things. And they could have said, please send home the printouts after all the kids in the grade at this school have a result but instead they defaulted to waiting until the test has been over for weeks if not months. |
| Are they doing winter iready? I don't think they are. |
Some schools do it three times a year. |
At our school they did Winter iready the week after Winter break. Still no results. |
| It infuriating that the scores are available to schools and teachers immediately but parents can't have access to them until 60+days after the test is completed. I also agree there might have been a crack down because in years past I was able to get the paper print out from teachers when I asked but this year I've been told I need to wait until they are released district wide. I don't like going into IEP meetings without a piece of information on my child's progress that the school has ready access to. (Note I said a piece of information) |
I think my kid took it in December. Either that or right when they returned from the break. It's been so long I can't quite remember! Per the website the testing window was Dec. 9 to Jan. 28, so these are quickly approaching the 1 month they claim. |
iReady is not the only way to assess skills or weaknesses. |
While that is true, the students are taking these tests at school and do you disagree that there is some value in parents being made aware of any potential gaps these tests detect in a timely manner? |
