Are finishing Freshman year getting paid or unpaid internships? if paid, what is a typical pay range?

For engineers at top schools there are often summer research jobs, $6000 to 9000 for 8-12 weeks, from their home university or they can apply to programs at other universities. Mamy include free housing or discounted housing in addition to the stipend. It is past most deadlines at this late date. Some industry roles pay more but not typically for freshman. Many professors have connections and can help students find paid research.

DC did academic research at his college his freshman year. $15.25/hour plus free housing (campus dorm) plus free meals (campus dining hall). Pocketed almost all of it

Unpaid internships are for chuds. Never give away your labor unless it's at St. Jude's or somewhere you're actually doing good in the world.

I work at a small company. We pay interns $20-25 per hour and it's usually 40 hrs a week all summer. I pay my summer sitter $25 for two kids.

My high school senior has an internship at $18/hr for 25 hours a week. Most of her friends are working job/jobs for $20/hr.

My daughter is finishing freshman year and also doing this. $550 per week plus housing and food.

After first year kid got $6500 no tax for 10 weeks. This year 2nd year just signed for $7000 for 10 weeks, housing and food provided along with travel.

My daughter was offered this with her acceptance to Bowdoin last year
