Does your school’s college counselor know if you hired an outside counselor as well?

Assuming this isn’t technically banned by your private school, is it still considered taboo to admit to the school that you’ve hired outside help?
Does it negatively impact the recommendation from the school counselor or anything else about your application from the school’s perspective?
Or is this something everyone does anyways and I shouldn’t worry about it…
