| Are any of your kids doing this? Say, VT Engineering over UVA Engineering? Are there other cases? |
| Makes sense. I would do this! |
| Yes. Kelley Business in the Honors college over UMD and other top 50 universities. |
| Comp sci/Engineering at GA Tech over most T-25’s. |
| Newhouse at Syracuse over several other programs (merit aid helped too). |
Absolutely. |
| Omg. Quit worrying about prestige and worry more about which program will give your kid the best education in your given major. |
| University of Michigan has a great Engineering and CS program would take it over many perceived "prestigious" schools. |
lol GT is plenty prestigious my friend. 12% overall acceptance rate and 8-9% acceptance rate. Next example. |
| Why not choose both: Emory |
= go to the program with more prestige. When they have more prestige than the larger university it's generally because that's an excellent program. |
| That's what employers are doing |
Friend's kid did the opposite- ED'd to UVA for engineering and the father is mad! Thinks the kid should've gone for Tech but agreed to the ED thinking he'd never get in. Whoops. |
| Missouri Journalism program over VT and Penn State programs. |
Missouri has an excellent journalism program |
