Extended street closures for road work in DC

Anonymous
DC resident here, so driveways aren't a thing in my area. My block had a "no parking roadwork" sign go up right before #snowcrete, a 3 week window extending to Feb 14. I asked the workmen what's up, it's part of the program to bury powerlines. Yesterday new signs went up restricting parking for 3 MORE WEEKS! And the signs extend all around the neighborhood. My 85 yr old neighbor needs to park 3 blocks away at the closest. Just a heads-up that when PLUG hits your neighborhood, it could be 6 weeks of chaos

Snowcrete was a once in a generation storm. Let's not be hyperbolic.

The issue is the extended road closures, snowcrete aside.

Eh. We also have the same thing, and snowcrete was not the issue. Instead it was Washington gas contractors (Infrasource) standing around doing barely anything all day for the last three months.

And I hit submit too quickly. Is, meaning presently, with no end in sight. Thankfully we have garage parking, but many neighbors do not.
