In case this is helpful for any other parents:
Kid got the flu over the weekend when student health was closed, so had a telehealth appointment and got a prescription sent to CVS nearby. CVS was out of the antiviral and so were all CVS in a 25 mile radius. I was able to transfer the prescription to Amazon pharmacy and they delivered it the same day. I have never used Amazon pharmacy before but am now a fan and very grateful for this option. And the price was cheaper than it would have been at CVS. |
| Thanks for sharing. I hope your dc feels much better soon. |
| Do you need prime for that? |
| Just checked for my kid in Western MA, it's two days. So doordashing from CVS remains the best option. |
Op here. I do have Prime. Not sure if it’s needed though. |
Only if CVS has it in stock. |

Great tip!
Speedy recovery to your son |
| Did your son actually test for the flu (there are OTC tests) and then, made a telehealth appointment? |
| Costco and Walmart deliver too. |
| I have used Amazon pharmacy many times and never had same day. I have had two Rx lost or extremely delayed and they were not helpful. In fact both Amazon and cvs staff told me they would not transfer Rx between each other. I ended up transferring to a small local pharmacy. I’m glad it worked in your case, but doesn’t always. |
Did not know this. Thanks for the tip! |
| Wegman's will deliver same day or you can drive up and they bring it to your car. |
| Wow. How did we all manage college without parents to Amazon us our meds? |
| Most people do not need antivirals when they get the flu, dumb. Your kid would have been just fine sleeping it off in bed with some Tylenol |
| I did not know kids were eligible for antivirals. Is this new for this strain? Speedy recovery to your kid! |
