Often: Do you say off-ten or Off-en?
Golf: Goff or golf? I say Off-en and golf. |
|
Often...I think I say both?
Golf...Golf...never heard anyone skip the l |

Fore-ward or
Foe-ward? Fore-head or far-head? |
| Hey, it’s Feb-u-ary. Don’t sweat it. |
Nor have I! And I'm around "gofers" a lot. |
I had a dance instructor who would always say “foe-ward, foe-ward, foe-ward.” |
| I have hard consonants. I'm from NYC and Long Island but was taught to fight the accent pretty hard so I don't have a lazy tongue. |
On that note, my pastor says ‘bolth’ instead of ‘both.’ Always adds an L. Makes my skin crawl. |

| I just assume people don't read. They can barely spell so it's no wonder they can't pronounce words correctly. We have a literacy problem, it's not all just dialects and accents the folksy people want us to believe. |
Lemme guess, you say “libary” |
|
I say “gulf” not to confuse it with “goff” like Angie Goff.
Often - I say it like off-den. I’m living in Virginia fwiw. |
I just realized I say “bolth” reading this response. |
Do you say axe instead of ask? Phome instead of phone? Deaf instead of death? 👨🏿🦱 |
You forgot about boff instead of both. |
