RD! Super thrilled. Was very down on self after a HYPSM rejection in early action. 35 ACT/1580 all 5s on APs. High GPA. Great ECs research etc. attends competitive public, top 5-10% but doesn’t have absolute highest rigor at school so prob will be shut out of other ivies / HYPSM in RD.

How stupid.

Wash U located in MO

Where legislature is changing laws not for the good of college students.

Do you and your kid not read?

Do you want them to get a job or go to medical school?

Beyond stupid.

Congratulations! HS classmate of my child last year was a finalist for one of WashU’s signature scholarships. The kid was also top 30 STS Regeneron and ended up at MIT. But was very interested in WashU because WashU is known to have a strong premed program.

You are beyond stupid and must not have been to Missouri. The state ain't Alabama or Mississippi or other red states in the Deep South. It is anchored by two major cities that are Democratic strongholds on the east and west ends of the state, with WashU in the nice part of one of them. You made it sound like WashU is in Afghanistan/Somalia/Haiti. Wtf.

This. My kid attends and it’s a very diverse school population with lots of dems.

Why all the hostility towards Wash U? St. Louis is a diverse urban area and Wash U has a diverse student body. Like Atlanta, St. Louis is a blue dot in a red state. There are areas of blue and purple states that are way more conservative than St. Louis.

I think it’s a great school for students with Ivy League stats who don’t want to be part of the admissions rat race.

The smart students are as smart as at Harvard, but most didn’t get where they are by being cutthroat or hiring consultants. They’re just smart.

I think you post things like all the time because you’re a MAGA social media person who’s scared of Wash. U. students turning Missouri blue.

You want liberal students to stay in states where they have impact on which candidates win.

Liberal or leftist students can go to Wash. U., hang out in a comfortable blue bubble, and get a really chance to turn Missouri blue.
