| Title says it all. Out of state for both. |
| If those two are my only choices?...Michigan. |
| No bad choices there. I'd pick Austin because it has a vibrant and growing tech sector. More in town internship options in Austin than AA. |
| Austin. More tech companies already there. |
| Both are good colleges |
Agree. There will be better internship opportunities in Austin. Plus, the weather is nicer. |
| UT Austin is renowned for CS. Did your school apply to Turing? |
| If both are oos, UT Austin is a fair bit less expensive. |

| Yes, my son applied to Turing but hard to get in. We are expecting he will not be accepted in to turing. |
| Either, and hope for better options toward the end of the cycle, MIT, UCB, Stanford,CMU, Ivies with longstanding CS /CE programs |
|
I don’t know UT programs but have a kid in UMich CS. UMich also has strong undergrad math, data science, stats, and biostatistics programs. Strong in robotics.
CS program is very large and your kid may feel lost. Housing is very expensive here so costs may be higher than you expect. It’s tough to rent your apartment over the summer for full compensation. |
Hope for Top 5. Only one Ivy there. |
Comparable for CS. Go for fit. |
Then go to Michigan. |
