Perhaps I’m misremembering, but I thought that while lottery applications for PK3-8 were due March 2nd, there was a longer window during which you could reorder your list. I don’t see anything about that in any of the online documentation. Am I wrong here? Does anyone know what that date might be?
(For context, we have the six schools we’re applying to total locked down but we have a disagreement about the order that may involve some more intense research, like testing out some different commuting methods, and I’m worried it’s going to be tight to come to an agreement by 3/2) |

School Selections
You can choose up to 12 schools List your 1st choice (the school that you like most), then your 2nd choice, and so forth. Review your choices to ensure that they are listed in the order you like most. You have until the deadline to make any edits on your application and until March 13, 2026 at 5 p.m. to update your school rankings. TIP: The order in which you list your schools matters! Students can only be matched with one school and are waitlisted only at the schools they ranked higher than the school where they are matched or enrolled. Watch this helpful video to learn why it is important to list your school choices in the order you like most. https://www.myschooldc.org/how-apply/what-you-need-to-apply |
| OP - oh, awesome, thank you! |
| Where is the March 13 deadline listed? |
It's very clearly on the My School DC link that was provided ... did you try that? |
| It isn't super clear, it is buried in the text. The main page had a clear timeline with no opportunity stated to change your order. |
