PP again. That’s correct, but it’s not because the program develops the players. Instead, Sidwell does something than no other good school in area does: it makes an effort to recruit top tennis players.

JTCC has a high school tennis program for kids who do online school with on-site tutoring.

The coach is a van driver. Tennis players go to Sidwell because it’s the only private school that will allow them to leave early to train elsewhere.

How is this possibly true when you have IMG and other sports academies with players who are basically pro level.

Is there a MaxPreps or SI or some other ranking that shows this?

Many private schools allow athletes to leave early to train. But they don’t recruit actively. I know personally of three kids over the past few years who were brought into Sidwell because of their tennis skills.

The top 10 is referring to high schools. Obviously, the top players in the country don’t go to in-person high schools.

IMG and the other top sports academies are high schools. No rankings show Sidwell’s as a top 10 HS program in the country…they are nearly all in FL, CA, TX.

IMG doesn’t have a varsity team that competes with other high schools. It’s an academy where the kids train and play in ITF/USTA tournaments.
