Translated texts/books

Anonymous
I recently went to an author speaker series at the local high school and one of the speakers mentioned how translated texts would be good for students to read. Specifically, there is a lot we can learn from other authors that are from outside the US (i.e. their writing techniques, prose, world views, etc).

Are there any recommendations folks on this board can share?
My kids are 14 and 10.

Check out 1001 Children's Books to Read which takes a "global perspective" and is arranged by age. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6936332-1001-children-s-books-you-must-read-before-you-grow-up?ac=1&from_search=true&qid=QLSwwmwcLk&rank=1

Also, here is a list from the NY Public Library. https://www.nypl.org/blog/2025/04/03/celebrating-recent-books-translation-children-and-teens
