For my 60th birthday I’d like a beach getaway in Greece. We like to beach walk, hike, snorkel and enjoy spa treatments. We’re not foodies but an included breakfast at an accommodation would be a bonus.
We might rent a car to travel to various beaches. Ideas? Thinking Crete but open to ideas. 8(ish) days. |
| Rhodes. |
Crete would have anything you'd want to do, places to go and eat, etc. |
| Hotel suggestions? |
| Somewhere in Chania so you can explore the left and right side of the island. Don’t miss Balos beach! |
| We went to Santorini and Crete. Both were lovely but if i were picking just 1 spot to park myself i'd pick Crete since it has a lot more to it. |
| Avoid Mykonos! They overcharge like crazy. A cyber driver told me all the Greeks looking for summer jobs want to work there because they can charge 3-4x want they would on other islands. |
I couldn’t stand Mykonos. So over run by tourists and so over rated. |
| Paros would be great. The Athenian Riveria is also really nice if you can afford it. |
| Paros |
We had the best time in Mykonos last summer. Everyone was so nice and the beach clubs so fun - we only went during the day as we had a kid so we weren't around crazy nightlife. |

Naxos, Paros or Spetses
|
| We loved the vibe in Naxos, no cruise ships so it is much less crowded. We would have ferried over to Paxos if we had time. My husband was able to scuba right off the beach in Naxos, plenty to do there and the old town is super cute. |
