My child is applying to another school, but the current school is not able to provide this year’s transcript for the application. They indicated that the transcript for the current year will only be available after admission decisions are announced.
Is this normal? |
| This year's full transcript won't be available until the year ends. But presumably they can send last year's grades and this year's grades so far. |
Do you have an interim report? |
| Surely you have access to last year’s transcript and this year’s first semester grades? Explain to school to which you are applying that you cannot provide “official” transcript but you can provide grades. They’ll understand. |
Not available from the school. |
The problem is that there first semester is not available yet. |
This years grades cannot be provided by the school. |
I'm confident your kid isn't the first child to need a transcript or similar coming out of your current school. I suspect it's a matter of getting to the correct person, or at least someone who can listen correctly and knows how to help. |
| I would say this isn't normal. I would ask someone else at the school to see what you can be given. Would a report card suffice? |
| Last year we had a hard time getting transcripts and the school we were applying to reached out to the school and was able to get them right away. |
| You could also ask the schools to which you are applying to reach out and request the information on your behalf. They may be able to get something more official. |
| Send any “progress reports” you have, or any emails or test scores or whatever shows your student is doing well. |
| Is it actually true that second quarter/first semester grades aren't finalized yet? If that's actually true you may not be able to do much about it. |
Try this. |
