| What is this place? It says 40-70% off including produce. The thought grosses me out a bit. Why so cheap? |
| no idea just go to lidl |
Lidl sucks because its always way too packed to shop. Its a miserable experience! |
| Shoppers Food Warehouse used to sell groceries at discount prices. They were a local staple for decades until they went out of business. I didn't shop there a lot but when I did it was always about the same quality as Giant or Safeway, the other two Washington D.C. grocery chains. |
McLean one is never packed when I am there. |
I call that one my secret lidl. A lot of people don’t even know that it is there. |
I agree the McLean one is never packed, but still has a poor selection for whatever reason. The only thing I end up getting there is something out of the random houses wares aisle where I probably find the same stuff in TJ Maxx! |
| We have no trouble finding many grocery items at Lidl. I imagine different people might be buying different things. We eschew branded groceries. |
| It carries overstocked and closeout products. So if you want a specific item or brand, you may be disappointed. But if you are okay with limited options, it's fine. The produce is decent, just fewer choices. And you will find some cool things sometimes. |
| I went there today and compared the prices to Lidl using the Lidl app. I didn't find the prices for a given type of product, in general, to be better than Lidl. |
| Ugh sounds like a TJMaxx and a Lidl combined. No thank you. |
That's because no one in Mclean except for people who are traveling through shop there. Custodians, cleaning people, day laborers, teachers. |
Mine doesn’t have unsweetened peanut butter. I kind of gave up on Lidl after that because I don’t like to have to make two stops, and we go through a lot of peanut butter. I don’t get the branded thing, isn’t everything in there branded? It’s all Lidl brand but who cares, everywhere has a store brand. It’s all the same. |
