MS promotion-- is that the last day of school for 8th graders?

DD is in 8th grade in APS and "promotion" is a Wednesday morning while the last day of school is Thursday. Do kids usually go "back" or are they done that day? Trying to plan travel.

Nothing happens if they dont go the last day.

Yes, it’s the last day for them. They even told the 8th graders not to come the next day when my kid was that grade.

Same. They actively tell them not to come and if they come in, they will be cleaning up classrooms.

Where did they announce the dates of promotion? Is there a link? Is it a different at each MS?
