| My teen troop wanted to attend this summer. We could just hop on the Metro and head to the convention center. But there are no one day tickets, except for the legislative session. $550 for three days of the GS United events is simply not going to happen. Are any other Nation's Capital troops planning to attend? Are you paying out of pocket or selling a million cookies? Only attending the local GSCNC events? I'm disappointed that the cost is so high. They want to keep girls engaged in Scouting and then price them out of the event. |
They just put out a call for volunteers for the Flag Ceremony which will get you in the door for free for that day. It is WAY too expensive for the average troop. |
| We too were interested in attending. But 3 days was too much time too. I think one day is more the speed of our junior troop. 3 days is a lot for little girls to attend for and to keep their attention. |
What is your service unit? I know mine is asking for volunteers in almost every monthly email. I also believe there are going to be convention-adjacent opportunities for girls to meet scouts from other areas who are coming to town. |
| I thought about taking my Girl Scout daughters but it's way too expensive. IT's really a shame. I think there is going to be some sort of GSCNC event at Franklin Square Park, maybe we will try that, if it's one the weekend. |
Do you have any info on that you can share? We're a GSCM troop and have asked several times about volunteering and have signed up for the volunteer email list on the convention website, but haven't heard anything at all. I understand they want to give the opportunities to GSCNC kids, I guess, but so many GSCM kids live just as close to DC as a lot of GSCNC kids. |

It is a crazy-expensive ticket. I am still holding out hope they will release one day tickets.
I'm a council delegate so I'll be there, but I'd love for more of my troop to come too, and I just can't encourage their parents to pay that much money. |
