TJ- Spanish 3 and Spanish 4 over the summer

I am not sure if anyone has asked this here. My son, a TJ freshman wants to take Spanish 3 over this Summer through Virtual Virginia and take Spanish 4 the next summer from Virtual Virginia again. I am not sure if anyone has done this ,If yes please let us know.Also wanted to know if Virtual Virginia gives out grades or just Pass/Fail.

Yes - my son took Spanish 3 and 4 over the summer through VVA. Courses are for a grade UNLESS you fill out a pass/fail form and file it with your school BEFORE the course starts. That is what my son did because he did not want the class to lower his GPA. He did not have any trouble with the actual class and also did not have any trouble with college admissions - got acceptances to schools that require 4 years of language.

So filing it before the course starts means, register for the course and let the school counselor know, right?

The guidelines have changed; don’t do this without first checking with TJ student services. Some classes without honors designation and prior TJ approval will not count! (Just got an email about this today, regarding classes this summer.)

Any outside course registration requires TJ counselor's signature, so it's expected to be sorted out before hand.
