Is your kid suffering from fatigue after returning?

After DS returned to college in January, he’s been complaining that he’s tired all the time no matter how much sleep he gets. Wondering if it’s seasonal affective disorder. He got some blood work done and everything is normal. Anyone else have a kid suffering from this?

Aside from checking for mono, I'd suggest vitamins D and C. Or a basic multivitamin in the morning.

Get a sun mimicking lamp on Amazon. Use it for 20 minutes in the early morning. And get outside for fresh air first thing. Then start the day. The combination is surprisingly powerful.

And yes to a Vitamin supplement with meaningful vitamin D. Also, if you can get your kid to the warm sun and for some exercise at spring break, it will help.

Did they do a real mono test or a quick one? If a quick one I recommend another full test. The quick one was not accurate for DC.

Check for mold.

A light bulb with a color temperature of 5000K or higher might help if it is SAD.

Spouse has a mild case of SAD, so we use that color temperature for some rooms in our house. For other rooms we use a more yellowish 3000K color temperature.

My kid had a week of insomnia and as a result missed out on an interview for an internship.

I'm annoyed that he can't get his act together and also worried about his continuing health issues. This is not the first time, but he's also severely ADHD and has autism, so I don't know what's causing what. There is only so much I can do.
