Hi Everyone!
I would love to hear any thoughts or experiences with Hewitt. If anyone is open to sharing, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you so much! |
| We love the Hewitt community, everyone is so warm and welcoming and down to earth. The teachers and staff are very supportive and nurturing and they really know your child because it's a small school. What stands out about the parent community is how proud all the parents are of their DDs and all the super involved girl-dads. So far the lower school experience has been great and DD is excited to go to school everyday. It is a small community though so you have to evaluate if it's the right fit for your family. |
Thank you! Appreciate the guidance. |
| From what I hear, it’s slow. Sharp kids transfer out. |
| If other girls schools are mean girl schools, Hewitt is the nice girl school. Math curriculum is the same as Spence and Trinity’s. Excellent literacy program. We have families in the lower school that chose it over Chapin, Spence, and Nightingale. Broad range of girls from kids working several years ahead of grade level to some who need extra help. The community is very warm and welcoming. It’s small and that doesn’t work for everyone. Parents are also less status obsessed than at say Spence or HM. So your dream is to be king or queen of the UES gala scene, it may not be for you. If you’re looking for a good education for your daughter in a warm environment where people are nice, could be your cup of tea - from a parent with one at Hewitt and one at a TT |
Love to hear this! |
| Their valedictorian went to Penn a couple years ago. Generalizations may be true but it could be a good fit for the right kid! |
| Looks like a couple to Princeton in the latest class based on Instagram. |

Hi I’m a current 5th grade parent here since K.
Happy to chat. It’s been a great experience in many ways. Especially including how they have handled challenges and our dissatisfaction of some things. |
| We have daughters in fifth and second. They are very different but each so happy at Hewitt. They are seen, supported, truly loved. The robotics program starts early, surpasses every other girls school, and has gotten those girls into exceptional robotics programs. But every girl has gone to a great college and, when you hear them speak, they are happy, healthy, and excited about their futures. Really coherent love the school and community more. |
Great to hear! Thank you |
