WOWWW |
| Wow indeed. Wonder if EA will still be offered, since most schools that offer ED don't offer EA anymore, except, off the top of my head, Case Western, UChicago, and Michigan among the t30. |
Interesting that there is no ED2. Can't be used as a backup if rejected ED1 elsewhere in the Top 30. |
I think it will be extraordinarily hard to get in EA if they do keep it. |
A private counselor told me the way to signal no other ED2 to USC is to apply RD and not EA. Also signifies you weren't admitted to your REA/ED1. And then do a ton of outreach, etc., and really spend weeks on the 2 essays to show fit (nothing recycled and showing truly unique match to school based on non-major or department-related offerings that are easy to find). Not sure if that's true, but something to consider as a possibility for RD next year. |
| Probably a response to ED at Michigan. For students who apply nation-wide, they’re in a fairly similar lane. |
Why is that a “WOWWWW”? Just says ZUSC wants to push its yield numbers up |
Facetious? |
UVA |
| I think it’s become too expensive for most applicants, so they want to nail down their full pay families. Smart move. My DC was admitted this year, but won’t be attending. It’s only for the rich or poor. |
|
Interesting. It will force Cal residents to choose over publics and, overall, make USC an even tougher admit.
That’s two schools in the 20s (Georgetown going to common app) that are becoming much tougher admits than many top 20 schools next year (if they are not already) |
It already is, US has a 10 percent ish acceptance rate for EA and RD. |
| who cares about USC? it's not a premier school academically. and aren't they going broke or something? |
| for my kid, USC is a reach according to naviance. even with a 1520 SAT, most kids dont get in from our HS. she'll try to get SAT up - she's only taken in once - but maybe ED will be a boost? she loved the tour |
