My son said he didn’t want to take any Valentine’s Day cards. After the teacher sent home a list of names today, I asked again if there’s one type of card or candy, he said to pick anything. However given the level of effort his teacher is going to with building exchange bags, I figure it’s kind to atleast give out something.

My son's last year of Valentines he did Jurassic Park.

No. It ended before 6th grade. This is not a good idea to continue with MS. They get very mean at this age.
5th grade boy, sports themed cards. No extra candy or effort, just writing names on the cards. He probably won't do it next year.
Minecraft
Also you can just get those individual things of candy that have the to/from on them like valentines
Minecraft
He drew a card, pretty simple with hearts and "hope you have a great day," and we printed out copies.
Just give him a bag of candy to pass out.
Our school allows you to just pay for lollipops for the entire class via the school, so he’s just doing that.
My 11 yr old boy is over V-day also. I happened to find Skittles packs with a space for a name--he just wants to hand out candy and do no cards. Fine by me.
