NYC private schools now charge over $70k/year. How high can tuition go before the bubble bursts? At what point do families migrate to catholic schools or form cheaper alternatives? |
| There will always be people who can pay. To so, it's an estate plan, to others, it's worth the prestige, to other it's immaterial. |
| My youngest is graduating in June, and the tuition has literally doubled from when we started this whole process with his older sister in 2009. It's nuts. |
| Higher tuition can help filter out the riffraff. |
Selective admissions does that. |
Not well enough. They don’t get financial info for families unless they apply for aid. |
What riffraff? These schools already do this through admissions testing. They also have a decent chunk of students on scholarships through programs like Prep for Prep and Oliver. |
Bump up the tuition a little higher and we can find out. |
17 years of inflation...and returns. How long does it take for money to double? |
