| Congested, fatigued, no drive to do anything. Haven't left the house in days. Just looking for commiseration. |
| Same here, OP - I definitely commiserate! Day 10 for me... |
|
I am sorry. May you feel better soon.

They can definitely hang on for a while, especially if you’re tired or stressed or have recently recovered from another virus. Sometimes age or underlying health conditions—even just perimenopause—can mean a big causes greater levels of inflammation, which then impedes healing.
Wishing you a quick recovery! Try taking a different non-drowsy antihistamine at morning and night. The OG 12-hour Sudafed from behind the pharmacy counter also helps a lot. |

It took me 3 weeks, OP. In hindsight, I think I had a cold and Flu A, because in the middle of the three weeks I had a fever, chills and fatigue, and then later my kid was diagnosed with Flu A. I haven't been that sick with a viral infection since I was a child.
Hope it's just a cold for you. |
| ^ and I was vaccinated for the flu, of course. |

I'm sorry OP! Some of my colds are like this. My husband never understood why I was so paranoid about catching a cold prior to travel or a big event. His own colds were like, 2 days of mild congestion and cough and zero change in energy level. My colds were 3 days of significant sore throat, followed by about 10 days of thick bothersome congestion that made it hard to sleep, and a hacking cough that would last for 3 weeks even with albuterol. Oh and I'd be exhausted for a week.
Weirdest thing? Once I got pregnant, my colds suddenly turned into just normal , 3 day uneventful colds. Across the board. It's been 10 years now and I've only had maybe one cold that was as bad as the ones I used to get, and that cold was most likely covid due to an exposure I'd had. Go figure! Maybe you should get pregnant! |
OP here. I'm 59, but it's a lovely idea!

| My whole family (including me) had this exact same thing for 3 weeks. |
| Colds typically last 10-13 days |
| Good luck lasted a month for me. |
| Lasted 4 full weeks for me, and I feel fairly certain it was only a cold or a cold-like virus. No fever, fatigue or body aches, just horrific congestion and a wet, hacking cough. Also had the worst pressure (but no pain) in my ears. It felt like I was under water. Worst, longest lasting cold I have ever had in my life. |
it's probably covid. but some of you will say "oh covid is just a cold!" |
| Same. |
| Could be measles |
