How often do you blow the horn every day?

I can’t get through a commute without needing to use the horn lately. Are divers just getting worse all the time?

No, you’re just a twat

If you run into an ahole in the morning, you ran into an ahole. If you run into aholes all day, you're the ahole." -Raylan Givens

But drivers are getting worse it seems

Once every couple months

I have the most charming visual of swimsuited divers jumping headfirst into large fluffy snowbanks, and OP blowing an animal horn to mark the occasion.

If only.

I probably do a gentle "hey, the light is green now" honk once or twice a month. People are always looking at their phones. But I try to make this a short little honk -- not trying to contribute to noise pollution for the surrounding area or stress people out, just trying to avoid sitting through a light for no reason.

A true "wth are you doing?!" honk? Maybe once a year. Usually in a freeway situation where I'm trying to let someone know that what they are doing is dangerous.

At least one time a day. I live in DC and VA/MD drivers make me CRAZY!

Like never

Almost never for so many reasons.
I'm hardly ever in a hurry. I'm too busy wondering what the person is doing to warrant me blowing the horn.
There are a lot of inexperienced drivers. Blowing horn is probably making it worse for them and for me.
If they have stopped in the middle of the road too long, I think they have a medical emergency.
My first thought really is that they need some kind of help. How the heck do I think I have a horn that helps everyone. I wish.

Thank you! I feel the same way.

Once a year in what could be an actual accident. Maybe 2-3x yr very gently when someone clearly does not notice the light is now green (like over 5 full seconds have passed).

Otherwise no. Things tend to work themselves out, even at not the pace I would prefer (I’m a pretty speedy and alert driver). What’s the point. It just adds to the stress of a situation and there isn’t much to gain.

+1 This area is full of TERRIBLE drivers, but still: if you're honking at people every day, you're the a-hole.

Same here.

What are you using the horn for? Other than making noise, what purpose does it serve? You're telling the driver in front of you to go?--They eventually will. Why do you need to remind them of what they need to do?
