MoCo Club Soccer Options

Anonymous
I am writing for recommendations on club soccer options in the general MoCo area. I am relatively new to the DMV area and am looking for recommendations on level of play, healthy culture, skill development, collegiate formation, etc. My daughter is 15 and currently plays for a U18/U19 club team that participates in EDP, NCSL, and other leagues. We are very happy with the experience but looking for something more geographically convenient. TIA for any advice.

I think you won’t find what you are looking for. Do you want to play at a higher level? If so you will be driving from Md to nj.

This person has no idea what they are talking about. For MoCo area, you are looking at Bethesda for top team. Bethesda has 3/4 teams at her age group. Ecnl, RL and color teams.

I do no what I’m talking about. They are looking for a healthy culture and place where they don’t need to travel much. It doesn’t exist.

They want skill development and collegiate formation too. Bethesda is the only one close to that. Top level teams are rarely healthy 😂. You don’t get to be a top team in the country with a happy go lucky attitude. Those girls are competitive.

Almost impossible to answer without knowing what you want for geographical convenience. McLean is accessible to western MoCo, Arlington to southern MoCo and Armour/Pipeline to NW MoCo depending on your viewpoint of accessible.

Naturally, Bethesda is the big dog but I would not consider the culture healthy like some of the flowers and rainbows EDP clubs. My child is mentally tough enough to handle it and continues to develop. Nothing is perfect and you have to pick your poison.
