My family.. all adults.. would like to vacation out west and enjoy "Cowboy" type activities. Riding horses, hiking, swimming, other activities.
We can only really find resorts with Kid centered activities and are not really interested in those. Any ideas or suggestions? |
| Um, those are not cowboy “activities.” Cowboys work. This sounds like a bad remake of City Slickers, or an even worse porno. |
Go away. Riding horses is a cowboy activity. The others were this we are interested in including. Not anywhere near porno you freak. Go back to your fox news. |

There are upscale Dude Ranches which cater to adults, and which feature activities other than or in addition to horseback riding.
One is pawsup.com. Another is triplecreekranch.com. There are more - Google can tell you. |
| Check out Covered Wagon ranch in the Yellowstone area of Montana. |
| I think Montana is good for this- out west, no. |
| We loved Our Lazy S ranch in WY. Kid/adult activities are separate |

Did some whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River near Buena Vista that was pretty enjoyable. Maybe couple that with a trip on the narrow gauge railroad out of Durango and some hot springs at Pagosa.
None of that is terribly "cowboy," but it's fun western stuff. |
NP. While I agree with you, what on earth does "fox news" have to do with anything? Please keep your politics out of this.

Updated link. Above link is just horseback trips. I did this and it’s a lot of fun. Below is link for horseback and dude ranch. [url] https://www.triplejranch.com/ |
| We did a trip like that out in Wyoming . The concierge at our resort planned everything. We did whitewater rafting, horseback riding, skeet shooting, hiking and went to a fancy rodeo. My adult children still say it was their favorite vacation. It cost us 30 grand but it was worth it. |
| $30k. Eep! I thought we spent a lot on our vacations, but that's hard core. |
A what? Lol. No such thing as a "fancy" rodeo. |
