A Shout Out to the Weather!!!

Just a shout out to the only positive of this terrible weather... you have pre-empted the dumb Feb 1 try out window, thus preserving team cohesion for a few more weeks. Next time, snow until May or June

Imagine if all the parents banded together and refused to pay the clubs any money until practices begin August 1st?

You’ve got a point, OP. I hate that part of spring season.

Yeah! Imagine that! Are you in kindergarten?

Tryouts and recruiting are still happening - just more under the radar than a public tryout. You’ve been warned!

The leagues should have a rule...no tryouts/IDs until the end of the current season. Seems simple, except that the leagues and teams don't care about us. We are stuck in this cycle.

For the girls side, one of the leagues has had strict rules about tryout dates. The other league didn’t have tryout limits so the league that has them has had to move tryout dates up.

Yes. My son tried out for a club’s 2012G team in Jan and he was told he had to come back after Feb 1. The rules and timelines are not only crazy early but also arbitrary.

I bet he didn't make it because he tried out for a girls team.

Arlington allows boys to try out for girls’ teams? When did that policy start?

Idk why PP’s kid didn’t make it (actually it says he was told to come back) but grow up dude it’s 2026 gender doesn’t matter in sports. Take the maga bigotry elsewhere

I don't know what to do with this comment. I'm no friend of Maga, but also no friend of a dude being on a girls team. I'm just hoping this was sarcastic.

I don’t care about this issue because it doesn’t affect me but sounds like you caught the MAGA fever from Reilly Gaines. It’s 2026 my dude. Biological boys are now allowed in girls sports as long as they just say they are a girl. Simple as. But I haven’t seen this in kids soccer so it’s not worth debating you out of your MAGA fever. It’s a non issue end of story. Move on.

It’s 2026, gender stuff is so 2024. Boys play boys and girls play girls. There are maybe 1-2 exceptions state wide. Also, it usually has to do with talent and not gender identification.

Correct. I think RU has a few girls that do or did play with the boys because they have the talent, not because they say they are boys.
