| Are there ever spots in 1st or 2nd grade at these schools? We sadly got waitlisted from the five K-8 all boys schools that we applied to, coming from a nursery school that is not a feeder. |
| It would be very rare. I would write letters to the waitlisted schools and let them know you are still very interested. I think some of the schools open up spaces in 5th or 6th grade for middle school. |
| Aren’t there only 4 all-boys K-8 in Manhattan? Are you asking if they have spots in 1st and 2nd grade because you plan to try and transfer in a non typical entry point? I think Browning and Allen-Stevenson take in boys at every grade, the others not impossible but much rarer |
Yes typo - one of them was a k-8. |
| My son is at a boys school, and his class has experienced movement, in and out of the school, almost every year so far. He is now in Middle School. People move/get new jobs, and kids change schools (for better fit, learning differences, sibling cohesion, etc.). Yes, it happens. |

Browning usually has spots. Did you apply there? Does your kid have a summer birthday and they’re just a young applicant?
Someone I know told me that BWL is still accepting applications for next year. |
| I have heard in the past that Browning and A-S often have openings in most grades. |
| Sorry what is BWL? |
