Baby gift for friends in France

Anonymous
They are having baby #2. Young couple with limited money. I gave them a baby bouncer for the first baby, and they raved about it. What should I get for the second one? I am thinking a hip carrier but not sure how useful it is in the suburbs of Paris. I will need to order it online to be mailed within the EU. Any ideas?
TIA

Send a gift card.

Call a baby store close to where they live and order a gift basket to be delivered

Or a gift certificate to that local store

Do they have a carrier already? It's a good idea, but only if they need one.

Thank you. That’s a thing in France? Can I do it online?

I don’t know, but don’t think so. I was thinking a hip carrier?

How about Amazon.fr. ?

I have never needed this but it might be convenient. The Facebook link talks about paying in Euros on credit card. So you may need to know your credit card's policy.

I wouldn’t get a hip carrier. Some people seem to love them, but I don’t understand the point!

Probably they would like some money

I'm French and have given gifts via Amazon.fr for my cousins' babies in France. I use either the free trial of the French Amazon or just pay for a month to send gifts there - the membership is very useful at Christmastime when I need to send multiple gifts to all my relatives. It's separate from my American Prime membership. Everything works with my American credit cards - the website displays the exchange rate when you pay.

For births, I've bought crunchy parenting books, organic cloth carriers, and my all-time favorite, organic Aden+Anais muslin swaddling cloths and blankets: I bought those for my babies long ago, and when they outgrew the swaddling, they used them as blankets and loveys and then as costumes. Now my cousins' babies are toddlers and I buy them all-natural wooden toys from reputable French brands.

It all works seamlessly.
