I'm wondering if there's any chance of renting a house in Cape May this June-July. I'd also be grateful for any suggestions about rental companies to contact, and what features/locations to look out for (assuming we have any choice).

I do not recall the realtor (I had some rental booklet) but we rented for several years in the Cape May Point neighborhood. Houses are in walking distance to uncrowded beaches (one needs a CM Point beach badge to gain beach access). Just a short drive to the quaint downtown. I think we rented in January for a July week though.

If we can't find a place in Cape May Point, what are the parts of Cape May town that one would want to stay in?

Beach badges came with home rental/lease. I have not stayed anywhere in town.

Check the Cape May Chamber of Congress website--google it since I don't know the exact address--they have rental info, activity info including beach tags and other good stuff to know.
