How to begin room sharing?

Kids are 1 and 4 and I’d like to have them room share. Any tips on beginning this? How does bedtime work if the 1YO goes to sleep earlier? Both wake up around the same time already.

Baby went down first, and generally was sound asleep. We did bed time story in my bed instead, then I carried toddler over to the kids' room. She wasn't very quiet but the baby did not wake up.

We did have to transition the baby out of the crib earlier than expected, because the toddler taught him how to climb out of it (with her assistance). It was very cute but very dangerous.
